EMERSON ACADEMY
Led a full rebrand and website overhaul for a relationship-driven microschool—developing their visual identity, messaging, and site from the ground up to reflect their warmth, clarity, and commitment to helping students thrive.

Project Overview
With minimal initial direction, I led a full brand and website transformation for the school—rewriting, redesigning, and reimagining both its identity and digital presence. The work included brand development, website strategy and design, copywriting, and the creation of visual assets that could communicate the warmth, purpose, and impact of the organization.
Scope included:
-
Brand identity, color palette, and logo refinement
-
Full website redesign, from structure to storytelling
-
Copywriting and content strategy across all pages
-
Custom iconography and imagery sourcing
-
Donation page and program overview design
-
Light-touch SEO and performance optimization
The Challenge
The client came to me frustrated with their existing website—not only because it no longer reflected who they were, but because they had little control over it. Even small updates required going through a webmaster, which often meant delays, missed details, and an ongoing sense of dependence.
Beyond the technical limitations, the site lacked something even more important: a clear message. It didn’t tell the story of the school, communicate its mission in a compelling way, or provide an intuitive path for visitors to register or get involved. The heart of the organization was there—but it wasn’t visible online.
The challenge was twofold:
-
Create a website that truly reflected the school’s voice and values.
-
Build it in a way that gave the team autonomy and confidence to manage it themselves moving forward.
The Result
The result is a brand and website that finally feel aligned with the heart of the school—welcoming, grounded, and full of possibility. More importantly, the team now has the tools and confidence to keep their story current, ensuring the site can grow alongside their work and community.
